Safety National Deploys Guidewire Systems to Transform Core Operations, Data, and Analytics Capabilities

Large commercial insurer implements Guidewire products to enhance operational efficiencies and help staff better respond to policyholders by leveraging data insights

COLUMBIA, S.C. & FOSTER CITY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 14, 2018-- Safety National Casualty Corporation, a leading provider of specialized insurance and reinsurance solutions, and Guidewire Software, Inc. (NYSE: GWRE), a provider of software products to Property and Casualty (P&C) insurers, today announced that Safety National has successfully deployed Guidewire InsuranceSuite as its new underwriting, policy administration, claims, and billing management system. The large commercial insurer also launched Guidewire DataHub and InfoCenter as its new data and analytics solutions.

The Guidewire Core and Data products are replacing Safety National’s internally-developed systems, helping to streamline the way it does business. The company first deployed the products for its excess and surplus line of business, with the cyber and commercial auto lines of business to follow later in 2018 and in 2019, respectively.

“By getting weekly updates from every team involved in the project regarding budget and implementation status, we were able to implement the products on time and on budget, and have already achieved significant return on investment following deployment. For example, we have been able to reallocate staff in the claims department thanks to the efficiencies ClaimCenter has brought us,” said Chris Griffith, chief information officer, Safety National. “Also, the biggest benefit for Safety National is the completeness and accuracy of the data we can now gather through DataHub. As data becomes the new currency, it is reassuring to know that DataHub will provide a single source of truth for us and will prove invaluable to the future of Safety National.”

The Guidewire Core and Data products are enabling Safety National to:

  • Enhance operational efficiency, employee productivity, and collaboration throughout the organization to transform its business by standardizing on a modern software technology platform;
  • Simplify the underwriting process by automating manual processes;
  • Collect more measurable data points and better map and convert data through the full InsuranceSuite product line; and
  • Increase responsiveness to changing business and technical requirements by bringing new products and product enhancements to market more quickly.

“We applaud Safety National in its successful deployment of Guidewire Core and Data products,” said Mike Polelle, chief delivery officer, Guidewire Software. “We are pleased that the products are providing Safety National with the foundation to identify and respond to industry trends and the emerging needs of its brokers and policyholders.”
