Texas Mutual Insurance Company Selects Guidewire Solutions for Data Management and Business Intelligence

Guidewire DataHub™ and InfoCenter to enable workers’ compensation insurer to leverage data insights to help staff better respond to policyholders

AUSTIN, Texas & FOSTER CITY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 13, 2015-- Texas Mutual Insurance Company (Texas Mutual), Texas’ leading provider of workers’ compensation insurance, and Guidewire Software, Inc. (NYSE:GWRE), a provider of software products to Property/Casualty (P/C) insurers, today announced that Texas Mutual has selected Guidewire DataHub™ and InfoCenter to support its enterprise-wide data management and business intelligence strategies.

Texas Mutual selected DataHub and InfoCenter to replace its internally-built system and help make data easier to access and understand for its users. Texas Mutual successfully deployed Guidewire ClaimCenter® in 2014 and is currently implementing PolicyCenter and BillingCenter. DataHub and InfoCenter will be deployed concurrently with PolicyCenter and BillingCenter.

“We are excited about the prospect of using Guidewire DataHub and InfoCenter as our primary data source,” said Randy McKean, senior manager, Information Technology, Texas Mutual. “Having a complete solution with InsuranceSuite and Guidewire’s data management and business intelligence products will allow our users to quickly retrieve data and generate actionable business insights.”

DataHub and InfoCenter will enable Texas Mutual to:

  • Improve the ease of doing business for staff through the deployment of self-service options that will enable them to access reports and conduct queries independently;
  • Better map and convert data through the full InsuranceSuite product line; and
  • Provide a single view of data to users across the organization, including claims, finance and underwriting.

“Good data is critical to helping the organization achieve its strategic goals,” said Terry Buchheit, vice president, Application Services, Information Technology Division, Texas Mutual. “The implementation of DataHub and InfoCenter, when combined with InsuranceSuite, will provide us with significantly greater operational visibility, in order to be more responsive to our customers and business partners.”

“We are pleased that Texas Mutual has selected Guidewire DataHub and InfoCenter,” said Steve Sherry, group vice president, America Sales, Guidewire Software. “We look forward to helping them realize their goal of gaining access to insights and data from across their business.”

Guidewire DataHub™ is an operational data store that unifies, standardizes, and stores data from the typical patchwork of an insurer’s systems as well as from external sources. This provides the single source of truth to feed core systems, business intelligence solutions, and downstream systems such as general ledger, regulatory, and tax reporting. DataHub decouples data consumption from data production, thus insulating downstream data consumers from changes in the behavior and configuration of upstream data producers. With DataHub, insurers can more easily retire legacy systems, ensure business continuity during core system transformation, and add new applications in the future.

Guidewire InfoCenter™ is a business intelligence warehouse optimized for the Property/Casualty industry to provide information in easy to use formats for business intelligence, analysis, and enhanced decision making. Pre-integration with Guidewire products significantly reduces implementation time, risk and maintenance overhead, allowing customers to focus on configuration for their unique needs. It is compatible with a variety of industry-standard business intelligence tools.
