Amica Mutual Insurance Company Selects Guidewire ClaimCenter
Guidewire's Market-Leading System to Help Carrier Reduce Claim Processing Time and Increase Adjustor Productivity
LINCOLN, R.I., and SAN MATEO, Calif., August 16, 2005:
Amica Mutual Insurance Company (Amica), a direct writer of personal lines insurance, and Guidewire Software®, a leading provider of solutions to property and casualty and workers' compensation insurers, today announced that Amica has selected Guidewire ClaimCenter® as its new claims system.
Culminating a multi-year effort to define their claim system requirements and an extensive market search to find the best solution, Amica has determined that Guidewire's ClaimCenter solution best meets their P&C claims processing requirements. ClaimCenter was also found to be the ideal technology fit for Amica, providing an open system environment that could easily integrate with other software solutions and legacy systems. During their market search, Amica considered co-development of claims solutions with various software companies, thoroughly researched their purchase options, and contemplated building a solution themselves. Ultimately Amica opted to buy, selecting ClaimCenter due to the system's functionality and ability to help them reach their goal of moving to an electronic claim file while increasing adjustor productivity.
"Amica has a long history focused on delivering exemplary service to its policyholders," said Jim Will, senior assistant vice president - claims, of Amica. "Not only will Guidewire ClaimCenter take us from our out-of-date legacy environment to a modern-day technology platform, it will enable us to build on our history of success and raise the industry bar when it comes to service standards, showing America what good service is all about."
ClaimCenter provides Amica the functionality and flexibility to meet the company's key business objectives, including:
- Provide enterprise-wide, 24/7 access to claim information;
- Move from a paper-based system to "Electronic Claim Files";
- Improve service delivery to policyholders;
- Reduce claim-processing cycle times;
- Increase productivity and efficiency of claim handlers; and
- Integrate to existing solutions, including a document management system, various legacy systems (e.g., financials and appraisal systems) and new software applications, some yet to be selected.
Guidewire ClaimCenter is a leading end-to-end claims system for property and casualty and workers' compensation insurance. ClaimCenter's flexible business rules enable claims organizations to optimize and monitor the claim process. Claims executives can define, enforce, and continually refine their preferred claim handling practices. ClaimCenter's modern technology architecture, web services support, and web client enable lower total cost of ownership in any environment.
"Amica knew what they wanted in a claims system, and were very thorough in scouring the market and weighing available alternatives in order to find the best solution to meet their needs," said John Raguin, chief executive officer, Guidewire Software. "We are pleased by their vote of confidence in selecting Guidewire ClaimCenter, and we look forward to a long and successful relationship."
