Great Place to Work ranks software provider thirteenth in 2016 awards
DUBLIN--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 26, 2016--
Guidewire Software, Inc. (NYSE:GWRE), a provider of software products to
general insurers, today announced that it has been named as one of the Best
Workplaces in Ireland 2016 by the Great Place to Work
Institute. At an awards ceremony held in Dublin on 24 February,
Guidewire was placed at number thirteen in the medium-sized workplaces
category. This is the first time Guidewire has received Best Workplaces
in Ireland recognition.
The Best Workplaces awards are determined by the results of an
independent, third-party survey in which employees from hundreds of
Irish-based, and headquartered organisations participate. Employers are
ranked on topics including work culture, management practices and
behaviors, trust with co-workers, benefits, overall compensation,
longevity, trust in senior leaders, and the perception that their
contribution is valued.
"It is a privilege to be recognised as a Best Workplace in Ireland,"
said Marcus Ryu, chief executive officer, Guidewire Software. "Guidewire
has made a major investment in our Dublin office, and its professional
staff, of almost 200, have become indispensable to both our software
development and implementation work for our global customer base. I am
grateful for their contribution to our mission, as well as our Ireland
HR team, who have worked assiduously to make this office a fun and
professionally fulfilling place to invest one's career."
"The hardest part of growing a product development centre is making sure
we build the right team," said Niall Lalor, practice director,
distributed consulting, Guidewire Software. "There is always pressure to
hire, especially in an expanding organisation and a competitive job
market. It’s by getting the culture right and by finding people who
share our values, that we’ve been successful. Our team understands this,
and I’m delighted to see that the honest, anonymous feedback of my
colleagues supports that conclusion."

About Great Place to Work
Great Place to Work Ireland is part of a global network with offices in
48 countries using the same assessment methodology to publish 45 country
lists, as well as regional and global lists. The best known of these is
the Fortune 100 list of Best Companies to Work For in the
United States.
The key defining feature of a great workplace is the level of trust that
exists within it. From an employee’s viewpoint, the definition of a
great workplace is one where you trust the people you work with, you
have great pride in what you do, and you enjoy the people you work with.
The Great Place to Work Institute assesses the policies and practices in
place in organisations under nine key areas: Inspiring, Speaking,
Listening, Caring, Developing, Thanking, Hiring, Celebrating, and
Sharing. They then benchmark these practices against other organisations
in that country. The second key component of the assessment is an
anonymous Trust Index survey that gathers the perceptions of
employees under five dimensions: Credibility, Respect, Fairness, Pride,
and Camaraderie. Finally, there is an in-depth qualitative analysis of
open ended comments from employees.
